George V. Albu age 89, beloved husband, father and grandfather died at Crandall Medical Center Thursday April 29, 2004.
He was born February 2, 1915 in Alliance, to Visalom and Ludvica (Gravila) Albu and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Albu retired from Alliance Manufacturing where he worked as an electrical engineer for 42 years.
He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s and worked in California. He was a member of the U.R. Transylvania Society of Alliance.
He was a faithful member of Science Hill United Church of Christ.
George liked to travel and camp out and early on gave his children and grandchildren a love of both. He was generous with his time and always there when his family needed him.
He is survived by his wife, Jane whom he married June 1, 1941, his daughters; Carolyn (Robert) Tener of Rootstown, and Kathy (William) McBride of Amarillo, Texas, grandchildren; Marta Carlson of Denver, North Carolina, Brenna Russ of Lawndale, North Carolina, Carla Patterson of Canton, Trey McBride of Louisville, and Keely McBride of North Canton, eight great-grandchildren, sister, Maria Greavu of Louisville, and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Crandall Medical Center and Copeland Oaks for all their kindness and thoughtful care.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Science Hill United Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Stirbens officiating. Friends may call one half-hour prior to the service at the church.
The Family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Science Hill United Church of Christ, 12316 Beeson St. NE, Alliance, OH 44601.
