George W. May

George W. May Jr., age 78, of Alliance, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, February 18, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born June 5, 1944 in Alliance, Ohio to the late George W. May Sr. and Rosetta K. (Brunner) May. He was the 8th of 10 children, and lifelong resident of Alliance.

George retired from Royal China Pottery in Sebring, Ohio after many years of dedicated service.

He was a jack of all trades, willing to help anybody in need with the understanding that he would talk trash the entire time! George loved a good laugh, butterflies, camping, fishing, and tinkering in his workshop.

Those left to cherish his memory his children, William May, Tammy Delawder, Monica (Steve) Krabill and Christina Hopper; his baby sister, Diana Ormiston; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, six sisters; his loving wife of almost 50 years, Sheila; his daughter, Elizabeth, his son, Jason, and his great-granddaughters, Emmalee and Sophia.

Services will be held at Noon Wednesday, February 22nd  at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Freddie Rodriquez officiating.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
