George Charles Mohr, age 81 of Sebring, died at 12:42 a.m. March 28, 2005 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida.
He was born January 2, 1924 in Alliance, Ohio to Louis and Augusta (Bailey) Mohr.
Mr. Mohr attended Alliance High School and worked as a machinist at Paxon Machine in Salem and later was the owner and operator of George's Lock and Key in Sebring.
He was a life member of the VFW Post 6730 and American Legion Post 76, both of Sebring.
A U.S. Army W.W.II veteran, Mr. Mohr served as a Sgt. in the motor pool in Japan with the 1st occupation force.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (Lower) Mohr of Sebring, whom he married Sept. 10, 1950, daughter Georgianna (Ronald) Roudabush of Alliance, two grandchildren, Michael Hardin and Amanda Hardin, two step-grandchildren, Andrea Toussant and Michelle Pittman, four great-grandchildren, Todd, Hannah, Owen and Ryley, one brother, John (Ruth) Mohr of Alliance, one sister, Alieen Mazzie of Alliance, two sister-in-laws, Mary Ervin of Strausberg, Ohio and Phyllis Irwin of Lakeland, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorothy Berry, and one granddaughter, Allison Roudabush.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
