George K. Weimer Jr

d. June 10, 2015

I, George K. Weimer Jr., was born November 6, 1931, to Jane Rees Weimer of Girard, Ohio, and George K. Weimer Sr., of New York City. They provided a loving and creative home for me and brothers, Bob of Livingston, Montana (deceased), Dave of Youngstown, Ohio (deceased) and Walt of Lakeport, California (deceased). I married my Mount Union College sweetheart and the light of my life, Shirley Barrick.

I was blessed with an intelligent wife who, among other things, fostered a love of books in our family and challenged me to be a better person. Our love was strong enough for Shirley to endure my many idiosyncrasies and to give us two wonderful daughters, Jennifer Anderson (husband Kevin) of Westfield, NJ and Ann Baumgardner (husband Erich) of West Chester, Ohio. I was triple blessed with granddaughters, Elaine, Emily and Meg. All of the above have given me boundless pleasure and pride.

I was a long time Presbyterian, struggling to be a Christian. I was also as supportive of young people and education as I knew how to be. Community service has always been important in our family, and I was involved with politics and many service organizations. Kiwanis was the challenge and pleasure I most appreciated.

I am confident that the youth of our nation will accomplish much more than we can possibly imagine.

Reflect God's love and enjoy life.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church, 425 East Market St., Alliance, Ohio, on Saturday, June 13, 2015.
