Gerald E. Aufrance, age 78, of Homeworth, Ohio, died at 9:03 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born January 17, 1932, in Homeworth, Ohio, to Elmer E. and Ruth Gladys (Nichol) Aufrance.
Gerald was an Alliance High School graduate and attended Canton First Friends Church. He retired from Ohio Edison as a credit manager after more than 30 years of service. He loved to travel, enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a farmer at heart.
Survivors include his wife, Jean E. (Waltz) Aufrance of Homeworth, whom he married June 20, 1953; three children, Steven (Lisa) Aufrance and Amy (Mark) Guill, both of Louisville and Alan (Laura) Aufrance of Marlboro; grandchildren, Shannon, Douglas, Tricia, Nathaniel, and Anna Mae; two great-grandchildren, Stormie and Trinity; brother, Ralph (Ruth Ann) Aufrance of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters, Wilma (Howard) Jacob and Marilyn (James) Linger, both of Port Orange, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Glenn Aufrance.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Alliance First Friends Church. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Salem Greenlawn Cemetery.
