Gerald W. Yoho, age 86, of Alliance, passed away at 5:10 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Altercare of Alliance.
He was born March 21, 1931, in Alliance, Ohio, to the late Harold and Nellie (Andrews) Yoho.
Jerry was a graduate of Alliance High School and attended Stark State College.
He was employed as a Lieutenant for the Alliance Fire Department for 30 years until his retirement in 1984. He then worked for Giant Eagle.
Jerry was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, VFW Post 1036, American Legion Post 166, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 2174, Dr. Roach Outdoor League, and Korean War Veterans.
He was a United States Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class and served on the USS Tanner and Rhine River Patrol in Germany and was also a member of the Korean War Veterans.
His survivors include his wife, Roxanne (Steed) Yoho of Alliance; daughters, Linda Irons of Louisville and Julia (John) Crawford of North Canton; sister, Carol Ann Conrad of Homeworth; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Yoho; son, John Yoho; and stepson, Matthew Bussie.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with The Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
A Last Alarm Service for Jerry will be presented by the Stark County Firefighters Association immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jerry's honor to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406.
