Gertrude K. W. Scharein age 93 of Sebring, and formerly of Boardman, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Crandall Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 8, 1912 to Richard and Katharine (Maier) Fingado in Grensch by Basil and lived in Lahr Germany before coming to the U.S. when she was 18 years old. She then lived most of her life in Youngstown and Boardman.
Mrs. Scharein was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Youngstown, member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Youngstown and member of the Ladies Aid.
Mrs. Scharein was a very thoughtful and caring mother and grandmother.
Survivors include three daughters, Katharine Morgan of Cleveland, Trudy (Dean) Lewis of Alliance, Nancy (George) Ewing of Streetsboro, one son, Richard Scharein of Boardman, seven grandchildren, Dr. J. David Morgan, Phillip Morgan, Gretchen E. Cox, Rebecca Lewis, Katharine Eversdyke, Stephen Finley, and Benjamin Finley, eight great-grandchildren, and one sister, Marianna Ruth of Geneva, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Otto H. Scharein, whom she married Oct. 14, 1933 and who died April 6, 1970.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Youngtown, with Pastor Robert Johnson and Pastor Dean Lewis officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
