Gladys June Seevers

Gladys June (Persinger) Seevers, age 96, passed away on November 18, 2024. 

She was born on June 3, 1928, in Salem, Ohio, to Cecil and Ethel (Kelly) Persinger.

Gladys graduated from Alliance High School in 1950. She taught baton at various dance studios and on her own. Gladys was a member of the National Baton Twirling Association, Twirling Unlimited, and Drum Majorettes of America. She was a twirler for the Cleveland Browns for every home game from 1949-1961. Gladys also twirled in the Fairmount Children’s Band and the Navy Bells Drum and Bugle Corp, and was a director of MGM Productions Little Miss and Teen Miss. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her only daughter Vicki Lynn (John) Stuckey; grandchildren, Heather M. (Mike) Stuckey, John R. (Katie) Stuckey Jr., James H. (Jennifer) Stuckey, and Justin Michael Kelly; eleven great-grandchildren, Austin, Hunter, Layla, Johnathan, Alyssa, Sunshine, Annahkate, Aleigha, Skyler, Adahsynne, and Kirra; sister, Arwilda (Sandy) Koller; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, the Minger family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl R. Seevers; brothers, Raymond Persinger, Paul Church, and Wayne Church; sisters, Elenore Church, Judy Whipkey, Wanda Gonzolez, and Mary Kelly; and good friend, Wilfred Evert.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Monday, November 25th at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
