Glenn A. Mason, age 78, of Alliance, died at his home Saturday Aug. 16, 2008, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 22, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to Nelson Clyde and Gertrude (Williams) Mason and moved to Alliance in 1968.
A graduate of Coventry High School, Mr. Mason owned Glendale News Agency for forty years. He also operated Mason's Certified Gas Station for thirteen years, and worked at Ford Motor Company for seventeen years.
A member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Mr. Mason loved his grandchildren and was an avid Ohio State fan.
Survivors include his wife, Twyla Ann (Robinson) Mason, whom he married Dec. 16, 1950; children, Judi (Phillip) Reid of Byron, Ga., Cheryl (David) Brown of Marathon, Fla., Bruce Mason of Atwater, Diane (Joe) Kerr of Alliance, and Valerie (Jack) Mika of Edinburg; fifteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Crites officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Marlboro Cemetery.
