Glenwood F. Emmons, age 79, of Alliance, passed away at 11:55 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Community Care Center.
He was born February 20, 1937, in Kensington, Ohio, to Forrest and Elbertean (Upperman) Emmons and lived in the Alliance area most of his life.
Glen, a 1956 graduate of Alliance High School, was employed as a driver for United Parcel Service for 30 years until his retirement.
An avid golfer, Glen golfed at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club and made several golfing trips to Myrtle Beach throughout the years. He enjoyed pheasant and elk hunting out west, fishing trips to Canada and traveling.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy (Mohr) Emmons, whom he married April 21, 1961, he is survived by his son, Cork Emmons (JoAnn Campbell) and his daughter, Debbie (Jeff) Frank of Homeworth; and three stepgrandchildren, Lauren, Jacob and Joshua Frank.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Glen Davidson officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
