Grace I. (Consigliero) McCrea, age 88, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 19, 2007. Mrs. McCrea was born March 28, 1919, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to John and Jennie (Gialanella) Consigliero and resided in Alliance since 1949. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Grace was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Christopher Columbus Club and Senior Citizens of Alliance. She was a wonderful Italian cook and took great pleasure fellowshipping at family gatherings. She loved spending time with her family and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, dancing with the Carnation City Seniorettes, watching old movies and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Her love and compassion was an inspiration not only to her family, but also to everyone who had the privilege to know this wonderful woman.
Survivors include four children, Regis "Wally" (Karen) McCrea Jr. of Winter Haven Fla., Jane (Robert) James of Alliance, Bill (Penny) McCrea of Alliance, and David (Shari) McCrea of Canton: ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a sister Theresa Sothergill and brother John Consigliero both of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Regis W. McCrea Sr. whom she married October 7, 1940 and who died February 11, 1969; brothers Leo and Charles Consigliero and sister Mary Roecker.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at St Joseph Catholic Church. Friends may call 10:30-11:30 Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be held at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
