Gregory James Day, age 64, of Apopka, Florida, passed away March 6, 2019, with his family at his side.
He was born February 24, 1955, in Alliance, Ohio to James S. and Mary Ann (Lee) Day. He was a graduate of Alliance High School in the class of 1973.
He was formerly employed by American Steel Foundries before moving to Florida and had been employed by USIC LLC as a regional manager for over 26 years.
Greg enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, coaching Apopka Little League baseball and watching his son play professional paintball. He loved spending time with his grandson, William. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns football fan.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Ann Day; wife, Susan (Vogel) Day; son, Travis; grandson, William; brother, Jeffrey (Beth) Day; sister, Brenda (Jeffrey) Lamp; mother-in-law, Sally (Rich) Reigle; sisters-in-law, Pamela (Jeff) Keane and Vicki Vogel; and several nieces and nephews.
Gregory was preceded in death by his father, James S. Day; father-in-law, Roger Vogel; nephew, Matthew Allen Day; and paternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the First Christian Church; 1141 W. Beech St. Alliance, Ohio at 10 a.m. with his service to begin at 11 a.m. Services will be conducted by Pastor Aaron Phillips and Sue DeHoff. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Fairmount Memorial Park.
