Grover C. "J.R," Loftin

Grover C. "J.R.", Loftin, age 61, of Alliance, passed away at 5:05 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born April 10, 1952, in Olney, Maryland, to Grover C. Sr. and Mabel Maude (Aldridge) Loftin and was an Alliance resident for more than 30 years.
He was a tradesman with Operating Engineers Local #18.
J.R. loved carpentry, boating and was a devoted "do-it-yourselfer!"
Survivors include his wife, Diane (Angel) Loftin of Alliance, whom he married October 9, 1978; daughters, Dee (Daniel) Stanley of Homeworth and Dawn (Steve) Knizat of Salem; son, Dwaine Steed of Hanoverton; grandchildren, Christopher, Cody, Lucas, Dillion, Roger, Draven and Landrey, great-grandson, Koen; sisters, Martha Talbot, Dottie Kirkley, Betty Magruder and Barbara Loftin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ben Powell; and brothers, Roger and Douglas Loftin.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
