Harold William "Bill" Waltz

Harold William "Bill" Waltz, age 90, of Alliance, passed away at 2:20 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2018, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born March 4, 1928, in Alliance, Ohio, to Harry and Iva (Beck) Waltz.
A 1946 graduate of Alliance High School, Bill attended both Kent State and Akron Universities. He was employed by Universal Co-Operative Inc. as a laboratory director until his early retirement and then was employed with Harrison Paint in Canton until 1990.
Bill was a member of Alliance Friends Church and a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Ruth Ann (Morgan) Waltz, whom he married September 16, 1971; children, Linda (Paul) Carter of Homeworth, Jerri (Joe) Rugani of Mechanicstown, David (Kathy) Waltz of Canton, Robert (Darlene) Havlin, of Alliance, and Bryan (Sandy) Havlin of Columbiana, daughter-in-law, Cindy Havlin of Brewster; sister, Jean Aufrance of Alliance; brother, Robert (Kathleen) Waltz of Louisville; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law Laura (Paul) Johnston, son, Ronald Havlin, granddaughter, Michelle Johnston, and grandsons, James Paxson and Jeremy Havlin.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2018, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
