Harry E. Miller, age 86 of Alliance, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Aultman Hospital.
He was born April 21, 1927 in Alliance, Ohio to Mike and Mila (Jaconic) Miller.
A 1947 graduate of Alliance High School, Harry attended Dyke Business College in Cleveland and was the former owner and operator of Manhattan Cleaners until retiring in 1993.
Harry was a member of First United Presbyterian Church and served on the Board of Deacons, Board of Sessions, church trustee and was a member of the church choir for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Conrad Masonic Lodge #271, Alliance Shrine Club, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Tadmor Shrine, United Commercial Travelers and B.P.O.E. #467. Harry was also a former member of Alliance Jaycees, International Fabricare Institute and Alliance Masonic Chorus.
Survivors include his wife, Jean (Barber) Miller; sons, Michael (Donna) Miller and their daughter Sarah, of Alliance, Stephen (Betsy) Miller and their children Alex and Blake, of Alpharetta, GA; daughter, Lori (Danny) Ramirez and their son Daniel, of Orlando, FL; stepchildren, James Kemp, Judith (Ronald) Oberlin and Cindy (Richard) Wilkinson; one niece, Mary Beth (Saus) Meeder and one nephew, George Drew Saus; and his beloved pet, Freckles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Jane Miller who passed away in 2009; brother, Nevin Miller; and sister, Lillian Fryan.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. James McCurdy officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alliance Shrine Children's Transportation Fund, c/o Dale Dillon, 1078 Glenwood Dr., Alliance, OH 44601.
