Harvey S. Walker, age 71, of Alliance, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at The Cleveland Clinic.
He was born June 23, 1938, in Richmond, Virginia to Hazen and Augusta (Wright) Walker.
Harvey was a member of the Community Bible Church in Beloit and was formerly employed by Alliance Machine Co as a welder. He retired from Union Metals in Canton in 2005.
He was a member in good standing of Alcoholics Anonymous Association for 17 years. Harvey enjoyed golf and fishing, and especially loved being with his grandchildren and family.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in Germany.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel K. (Eyler) Walker, whom he married April 16, 1994; two sons, Stuart (Sheryl) Walker of Orwell, Ohio; and Robert Walker of Alliance; two daughters, Terry (Bill) Venables of Westville, Ohio and Donna Walker of Alliance; one stepson, Thomas Welling of Alliance; two stepdaughters, Angela Plath and Carrie Plath, both of Alliance; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, William (Janice) Walker of Irving Texas, and Stuart (Peggy) Walker of Richmond, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Helen Lindblad.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rod Doran of Community Bible Church officiating. Friends may call from 7 - 9 p.m. Friday.
