Hazel (Rafira) Lika, age 90 of 7040 Hepburn Rd., Middleburg Heights, Ohio died at 7:45 p.m. June 1, 2007 at Parkside Villa Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 4, 1917 in Canton, Ohio to Ionel and Anica Moldovan and lived most of her life in the Alliance area.
Mrs. Lika attended Canton McKinley High School and with her late husband, co-owned the former Cottage Pub Restaurant.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, where she formerly served as president and treasurer of the church auxiliary. Mrs. Lika was a member of Eastern Star, and was proud to have been selected Miss Canton in 1938.
Survivors include two sons, John (Anne) Lika Jr. of Burlington, Vermont, and Larry (Terri) Lika of Medina, Ohio, and five grandchildren, Katherine, Oliviana, Adriana, Jonah, and Aiden Lika.
Mrs. Lika was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, John Andrew Lika, whom she married Sept. 1, 1940, and who died March 19, 2006.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church with the Very Rev. Fr. Pantelimon Stanciu officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
