Helen A. Winkelman

December 6, 1913 — October 28, 2007

Helen A. Winkelman, age 93, of Alliance, died at 3:00 a.m. Oct. 28, 2007 at McCrea Manor Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 6, 1913 in Alliance, Ohio to Howard and Cora (Sautters) Smith.
Helen worked as a Mail Messenger for the U. S. Postal Service, and was a member of the Louisville Church of Christ of which she dearly loved.
Helen loved her dog Corky. She also loved the Lord, and enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include her loving caregiver, Leah and Jerry Riebold, and dearest neighbor and friend, Darlene and Frank Wagner.
Helen loved her friends at Trentwood Manor and Sterling House, and Joann, Charlotte, Ron and Jenny Williams at Roselawn Terrace. She also enjoyed the church services held at Roselawn by the Alliance Church of Christ.
Helen appreciated the loving care she received from the staff at McCrea Manor and Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence A. Winkelman, whom she married March 28, 1948 and who died in 1975, one brother, Lewis Smith, and one sister, Verna Dawson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Stevenson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
