Helen I. (King) Baldwin, age 89 of Alliance, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday April 11, 2005 at Sterling House.
She was born May 23, 1915 in Alliance, Ohio to Garfield and Jennie (Robinson) King.
Helen graduated from Alliance High School in 1933 and attended the Cleveland Academy of Beauty.
She was employed at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home as a hairdresser for more than 35 years, and was self-employed as a hairdresser for over 60 years.
She was a lifetime member of First United Presybterian Church where she served as an Elder, former deacon, former Sunday school teacher, and member of Church Women United.
She was also a member of Mt. Union College Women's Club and the Northern Ohio Covered Bridge Society, and enjoyed visiting covered bridges. Helen formerly volunteered for the March of Dimes, Cancer Society, and served as a Cub Scout Leader.
Survivors include her son, David Baldwin of St. Paul, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl W. Baldwin, whom she married in 1937 and who died in 1971, two infant sons, one infant daughter, and one brother, Floyd King.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor William Sadler officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
