Helen Marie Carroll, age 95 of Alliance, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at McCrea Manor.
She was born February 10, 1915, in Alliance, Ohio to Martin Joseph and Lucille Elizabeth (Marek) Yuritza and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
She attended Alliance High School and was employed as an assembler at Alliance Manufacturing for twenty years and an inspector at American Steel Foundries for more than 3 years.
She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and belonged to the Club 55 and the Church Women United Club. She was also a member of the Alliance Area Senior Citizens Center, AARP, Steel Workers Retirees No. 3932, Alliance Manufacturing Retirees, and a Red Cross Volunteer for 40 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Lois Jean (Boyd) Webster of Alliance; son, Richard Lee (Bonnie) Carroll of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, John (Donna) Webster, Bernadette (Dave) Mills, Nathan Carroll and Gabrielle (Bryan) Murray; six great-grandchildren, two step-great-granddaughters; and two step- grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur C. (Whitey) Carroll whom she married June 28, 1933 and who died October 7, 1992; brother, Victor J. Yuritza; and two grandchildren, David Webster and Diane W. Duvall.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with The Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
