Helen M. Huchok, age 87, of Deerfield, died at 4:35 a.m. Dec. 30, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center in Akron.
She was born July 11, 1918 in Deerfield, Ohio to Evan and Elizabeth (Walters) Edwards.
Mrs. Huchock graduated in 1936 from Deerfield High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Deerfield Methodist Church, Leisure Lads and Lassies, Deerfield Cemetery Association, Deerfield Quilters, Deerfield Historical Society, Deerfield Civic Society, and Eastern Star Chapter #114.
Survivors include one son, Paul E. Huchok of Hartville; one granddaughter; five step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Paul Huchok, in June 1992, whom she married on June 10, 1949; one step-daughter, Phyllis Ressler, one brother, Evan Edwards, and one sister, Thelma Edwards.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Beggs officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where an Eastern Star Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be at Deerfield Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
