Helen C. (Williams) Makin, age 90, of Salem, formerly of Washington Twp., Homeworth, Ohio, passed away at 7:50 a.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Sterling House of Salem.
She was born October 6, 1923, in Alliance, to Homer J. and Anna E. (Logue) Williams and was a lifelong area resident.
Helen was a graduate of Alliance High School and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
Survivors include her son, Roy (Mary) Makin of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Cathy Wilson of Diamond; seven grandchildren; eight great-granddaughters; a sister-in-law, Wanda Williams; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Scott "Red" Makin, whom she married June 26, 1942 and who died September 21, 2009; son, Harold "Sonny" Makin; son-in-law, Charles S. Wilson Sr.; brother, Warren G. Williams; daughter-in-law, Ellen Makin; and an infant niece.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses at 1610 State Blvd, Salem, Ohio 44460 with Tom Bolton officiating.
