Helen R. Mather

Helen R. (Alexander) Mather, age 82, of Alliance, passed away at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017, at her home.
She was born April 12, 1934, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to Dewey and Margaret (Baxa) Alexander and has lived in Alliance since 1955.
Helen was a high school graduate and a member of Bolton United Methodist Church. She was employed with the former Alliance Manufacturing Company for 32 years and retired in 1997. She was also employed at the Alliance Wal-Mart from 1997 to 2014.
Survivors include her two sons, Stephen E. Cutright of Ravenna and Glenn Cutright of Alliance; daughter, Janet L. Cutright Yost of Alliance; one stepson, David L. Mather of Blanchard, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Katherine Sevier of Florida; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Ralph N. Alexander of Buckhannon, West, Virginia; and three sisters, Margie L. Ford and Betty L. Garrison, both of Buckhannon, West Virginia and Lucinda M. Fouse of Vienna, West Virginia.
Along with her parents, Helen is preceded in death her husband, Charles J. Mather, whom she married June 25, 1972 and who died June 30, 2009; two brothers, Junior Alexander and Leonard Alexander; sister, Frances; and a step-son, C. James Mather.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Miller of Beechwood United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
