Helen M. La Monica, age 90, of Alliance, died at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born September 17, 1916 in Jersey City, NJ to Rosario and Sarah (Cofarano) La Monica and lived in Alliance most of her life.
Miss La Monica worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a clerk. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alliance. Miss La Monica enjoyed gardening and traveling especially to Europe. She volunteered at the House of Loreto in Canton and previously volunteered at the former Alliance City Hospital.
Survivors include her nephews, Anthony (Colleen) La Monica of Alliance and Kim (Denise) La Monica of CA and nieces Antoinette and Sarah La Monica
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Anthony, Frank and Joseph and a sister Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alliance with Father Donald Feicht as celebrant. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
