Helen Smith

Helen V. Smith age 84 of Alliance, died at her home at 8:30 a.m. Friday April 9, 2004.
Mrs. Smith was born in Akron, Ohio on May 15, 1919 to Fred R. and Harriet (Whitla) Throne.
She graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and was a graduate of Parkland Hospital School of Nursing in Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Smith was Bacteriologist, employed by the U.S. Health Services, federal government, and Washington, D.C.
She was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, having served in England as a Nurse and 1st Lt.
Survivors include: one sister, Carol Joan Kuhaneck of Alliance, four grandchildren; Debbie Chatreau of Elk Grove, Ca., Linda and David Ethridge of San Diego, Ca., Darlene Lindsy of Chesapeake, Va., and Jim and Michelle Smith of Spring Hill, Fla., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, John LeRoy Smith Jr., whom she married Aug. 1, 1962.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Gardens in Forest City, Florida.
