Helen K. Teeters, age 86, of Alliance, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at McCrea Manor.
She was born May 2, 1925, in Alliance, Ohio, to Charles and Elizabeth (Tatsch) Fox and was a lifelong resident of Alliance.
Helen was a graduate of Alliance High School, formerly worked at McCaskey Register, was a switchboard operator at Alliance Wall, and worked for various dairy stores, including Lawson's.
She was a member Fellowship Baptist Church in Beloit. Helen loved life, and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her life was filled with singing gospel music many places. For 35 years, she played guitar, sang solos; sang in the duet "Sunbeams"; sang in a trio, known as the "Roving Cow Girls", where they sang in churches, rest homes, and on the radio. Another one of her passions was photographing nature, which she won many awards for, including 'best of show'.
She is survived by three sons, Edward W. (Catherine) Teeters, and Gary A. (Janet) Teeters, both of Alliance; and Richard L. (Elaine) Teeters, of Sebring; four
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Edward Teeters, whom she married February 7, 1945, and who died December 18, 1991; one brother, Floyd Fox; and one grandson, Wayne Alan Teeters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor James White officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at Limaville Cemetery.
