Helen Marie Wagner, age 90, of Alliance died at 1:48 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born October 15, 1917 in Alliance to Michael and Johanna (Wellman) Wagner and resided in Alliance all her life.
Helen was a 1935 graduate of Alliance High School, earned her Bachelors Degree from Mt Union College in 1939 and her Master's Degree in Education from Kent State University in 1954. She taught at Stanton Junior High and retired in 1972 after teaching for 34 years.
A life member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Alliance, Helen taught Sunday school and was a member of the Chancel Choir for many years.
She was a life member of Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary, Pink Lady, named volunteer of the month in June 1984 and outstanding volunteer in 1995. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary fraternity for women in education.
Helen's survivors are many dear friends who have been very kind to her. They know who they are.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a seven year old brother, William who died in 1916, and one sister, Pauline.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Alliance City Cemetery with Rev. John Anderson officiating, with interment to follow.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
