Henry A. Domian, age 89, of Alliance passed away at 8:13 a.m, Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness.
Henry was born July 16, 1926, in Webster, Massachusetts, to Jan and Ewa (Abramczyk) Domian. He was a graduate of Syracuse University with a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering and the University of Michigan with his master's degree. Henry retired as a metallurgical engineer from Babcock & Wilcox Research Center. He was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Along with his wife, Anne, he had volunteered for over twenty years with the Meals on Wheels organization. He and Anne traveled extensively after his retirement and had spent their summers at their beloved cottage on Cape Cod, where he loved deep sea fishing, eating lobster, doing the Daily Jumble and going for walks. Henry was a decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He had served in both the Army and the Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anne Marie (Murray) Domian, whom he married June 28, 1952; two daughters, Jane (Vince) Cordova of Westerville, Ohio and Denise (Joe Miller) Domian of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two sons, John (Oneida) Domian of Alliance and Andrew (Stephanie) Domian of Catskill, New York; and two grandchildren, Chloe Miller of Milwaukee and Derek Gilger of Minerva.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin and Louis; and an infant daughter, Mary Anne.
Interment will be at a later date at Dayton National Cemetery. The family requests any material contributions take the form of donations to the Regina Coeli memorial fund, 633 Fernwood Blvd., Alliance, Ohio 44601 or to Mercy Hospice, 7568 Whipple Ave. NW, N. Canton, Ohio 44708.
