Henry Clinton Sweitzer, aged 81, was called home to the Lord on September 20th, from his home in Marlboro Township where he was surrounded by members of his family. He was born on February 10th, 1935 at the home of Rollin and Barbara (Baugh) Sweitzer of Marlboro Township. Henry attended Marlboro High School where he played many sports, in particular the Dukes football team. He would be a lifelong supporter of the Dukes and held season tickets to their games every year. He graduated in 1953 and attended Kent State University, where he majored in Business and Administration, graduating in 1957. Henry married Maryanna Simmons in 1956, and upon his graduation from Kent, he worked for Polsky's department store in Akron as a Product Buyer. In 1966 he moved to The Hoover Company, where he was hourly employment manager until his retirement in 2001. He was named an Outstanding Alumni by the Marlington Alumni Association in 2003. He spent his retirement taking fishing trips to Canada, caring for his 110-acre family farm, and enjoying his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known for his love of family and sports of all kinds, his love/hate relationship with the game of golf, his peculiar sense of humor, and his devotion to his church family. He became an Elder at the Union Avenue Church of Christ (now the Alliance Church of Christ) in 1969, a position he held until his passing.
