Henry L. Trunick, age 89 of Alliance, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born January 16, 1919 in Jenette, Pa. to Benny Trunick and Mary Jane (Smith) Trunick and lived in Canton, formerly of Alliance.
Mr. Trunick graduated from Moon Twp. High School and Pittsburg Business College.
He retired from Consolidated Rail after working for 35 years as a Maintenance and Way Inspector.
A U.S. Army WWII Veteran, Mr. Trunick served with the 4th Division Medical Supply Unit, and was a member of AARP.
He is survived by twins Patricia Trunick of Canton, and Perry Trunick of Cleveland Heights, step-son, Donald Beegle of The Villages, Fla., two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gladys A. (Shaffer) Trunick, whom he married Nov. 26, 1952, and who died May 22, 1986; three sisters and three brothers.
Private services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 17th at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. James McCurdy of the First Presbyterian Church-officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
