Howard W. "Bill" Dunham, Sr. age 74, of Alliance, formerly of Canton, went to be with his beautiful wife, Carol (Brown) Dunham, at 6:35 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2011, at Roselawn Terrace.
He was born October 1, 1936, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, to James and Beatrice (Duffy) Dunham. He attended the former Lincoln High School in Canton and was employed at Winter Foundry in the core room until his retirement.
Bill enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He was a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by his son, Howard W. Jr. (Robin) Dunham of Alliance; daughters, Christine (Michael) Oxier and Teresa (Roger) Haas, both of Canton; brothers, Dale Dunham and Lloyd (Phyllis) Dunham, and sister, Mary Ritchey, all of Canton; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol (Brown) Dunham, whom he married September 24, 1960 and who died September 15, 1987; and a son, Keith Dunham.
A memorial service will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Canton YWCA, 231 6th St. NE Canton, Ohio, 44702. A graveside service will be held at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at a later date.
