Howard A. Hill, age 77, of Marlboro, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Canterbury Villa of Alliance.
He was born March 6, 1935, in Senecaville, Ohio, to Ernest and Hazel (Potts) Hill.
Howard graduated from South East High School in 1953 and attended trade school for drafting. He attended Science Hill Community Church.
He served in the United States Army and Reserves with honors.
Howard retired from Circle Machine Rolls Inc. in Sebring having worked there for 35 years and served on the board of the Marlboro Fire Department as secretary for more than 20 years.
He was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton, 32nd degree, Lodge 271 F and AM.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth G. (Truex) Hill, son, Edwin (Kathy) Hill; daughter, Rhonda; stepdaughter, Rebecca (Richard) Schmidt; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; sister, Sabra Heckman; a niece and two nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents and a step- granddaughter.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday September 24, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Truax officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
