Irene L. Linhart

Irene L. Linhart, age 97, of Alliance, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016, at McCrea Manor.
She was born January 29, 1919, in East Canton, Ohio, to Mahlon and Nola (Van Voorhis) Werley and was a lifetime Alliance resident.
A 1937 graduate of East Canton High School, Irene had attended Canton Actual Business College and was employed as a secretary at Timken Company.
Irene and Norm were married in 1943 and together in 1950 they built Parkway Lanes which they held for 53 years.
She was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church, Alliance Garden Club, the Deborahs, and the Alliance Women's Club. Irene enjoyed playing bridge and being a hostess for parties.
Irene is survived by her children, Richard (Betsy) Linhart of Williamsburg, Virginia, Shirley Rill of Salem and Dan Linhart of Alliance; four grandchildren, Meredith Bougoury, Keith Linhart, Matthew Rill and Sarah (Zach) Leasure; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Harter of San Francisco, California; and many nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Linhart who died in 1995; son-in-law, John Rill in June 2016; and a sister, June Stone.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, the 7th at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Louisville. Ohio.
