Irene Elizabeth Oyster, age 89 of Alliance, died on January 25, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital at 4:45 p.m. following a sudden illness.
She was born on July 3, 1915 in Alliance, and was the daughter of Frank Conrad and Gertrude (Nunamaker) Conrad Miller.
Mrs. Oyster was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sebring. She worked at Alliance City Hospital, then Alliance Manufacturing, before working on the family farm, which she enjoyed. She loved to cook, sew and crochet, and she loved being a farmer's wife.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth R. Jr. and Ila Oyster of Kensington, Ohio, and son and daughter-in-law Daniel Lee and Phyllis Oyster of East Liverpool, Ohio, one half-sister, Gertrude Miller of Alliance, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Capt. Durward Miller, her husband, Kenneth R. Oyster Sr., who died Nov. 4, 1977, brother Delbert Conrad Miller, half-brothers, Robert Miller and William Miller, and one son, Timothy G. Oyster, all of Alliance.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. William Sadler of First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
