J. Murphy McCarthy

J. Murphy "Murph" McCarthy, age 46, of Alliance, died at 9:10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born June 7, 1962 in Massillon, Ohio to Joseph X. and Joretta A. (Kiefer) McCarthy and lived in Alliance for the past 13 years.
Murph was employed as a Supervisor for Anheuser Busch Sales of Canton for 23 years.
He was an avid Nascar fan and loved his dogs, Harry and Roxanne.
Survivors include his wife, Amy L. (Penrod) McCarthy, whom he married Sept. 15, 1990; his mother, Joretta A. McCarthy of Massillon; three sisters, Vicki J. (Patrick) McCune of Massillon, Jayne McCarthy (Daniel) Lynch of N. Royalton, and Patricia M. (William M.) Sermonte of Alliance; 12 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Yvonne Penrod; and sisters and brother-in-law, Dawn and Bob Battershell, Sue Waseman and Tim Wise and John and Kathy Penrod.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph X. McCarthy, and his father-in-law, Wilbur C. Penrod.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Fr. Mike Seifert of Regina Coeli Catholic Church officiating.
In honor of Murph's beloved dogs, memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society, P.O. Box 7077, Canton, Ohio 44705.
