Jack L. Pickerel, age 74, of Louisville, died at 7:34 a.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born March 5, 1939, in Alliance, the son of the late Otto and Ruth (Wilson) Buehler.
Jack was a graduate of Alliance High School. He worked for T&W Forge for more than 50 years as a quality manager until his retirement.
An avid reader, Jack also was known to try everything. He loved golfing, bowling, target shooting, and was an amateur magician, musician and photographer.
Jack was a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Haught) Pickerel, whom he married May 5, 1961; children, Edward J. Pickerel of Canton and Steven (Teresa) Pickerel of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Zachary, Jack, and Elyse; six sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandmother, Margaret Wilson.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
