James Andrie

James L. Andrie Sr., age 90 of Alliance, died at 9:30 p.m. January 7, 2006 at McCrea Manor.
He was born Sept. 10, 1915 in Atwater, Ohio to Charles and Elsie (Nidy) Andrie and was a lifelong area resident, residing in Brimfield for 15 years.
Mr. Andrie graduated in 1935 from Atwater High School, worked at American Steel, the Ravenna Arsenal and was self employed as a truck driver. He retired in 1981 from Thomas Asphalt Co. in Kent.
He was a member of Beechwood United Methodist Church.
Mr. Andrie was the Mayor of Limaville for four years; he served for many years, and was a past president of the Limaville Village Council. He was a charter member of the Limaville Lions Club and was the last living past president. He was also a member of the Lexington Grange.
Survivors include his son, Charles Paul (Linda) Andrie of Stow; daughter Linda (Bradley) Kincaid of Limaville; daughter-in-law Thelma Andrie; daughter-in-law Victoria Andrie; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his twin brother, John Andrie of Alliance; and sister, Margaret Babington of Niles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia A. (Flenniken) Andrie, on Nov. 16, 2004, with whom he married March 26, 1936; son Gerald Lee Andrie in 1981; son James L. Andrie Jr. in 2005; twin brother and sister, Elden and Eldis Andrie; brother, Charles Fred Andrie; and sister, Inez Grate.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Dykshoorn of the Alliance Christian Center officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Limaville Cemetery.
