James L. Andrie Jr., age 59 of Alliance, died at 10:02 p.m. Monday January 17, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born September 4, 1945 in Ravenna, Ohio to James L. and Virginia Ann (Flenniken) Andrie, and lived most of his life in the Alliance area.
Mr. Andrie graduated in 1963 from Marlington High School, and was employed by Cope Furniture, Kuntzman Trucking, and retired from Roadway Trucking Company as a Road Driver in November, 2003.
A U.S. Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam, James was a member of the American Legion Post 166, V.F.W. Post 1036, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2174, Loyal Order of Moose #362, Teamsters Union, and the former Roma Club.
Survivors include his father, James L. Andrie Sr. of Alliance; his wife, Victoria L. (Fry) Andrie, whom he married December 15, 2001; one daughter, Melissa Andrie of Lewisville, Texas; one grandson, Ryan Andrie of Lewisville, Texas; six step-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Bradley) Kincaid of Limaville, Ohio; one brother, Charles (Linda) Andrie of Stow, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and one brother, Gerald.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, with Rev. Paul Dykshoorn of Alliance Christian Center officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
