James E. Bertram of Alliance went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 12, 2009.
J.B. was born in Alliance on September 30, 1942 to James and Eva (Baker) Bertram.
J.B. was an Alliance High School graduate and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Sleepy Hollow Country Club, Alliance Elks and Canton Eagles. He started working with his father as a milkman for Purity Dairy and then later was employed as a purchasing agent at nuclear plants in New Jersey, New York and Seabrook, New Hampshire. Upon retirement, he returned to Alliance and spent the winters in Florida. J.B. loved playing cards, golfing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Luan Bertram of Bellview, Nebraska; Rebecca Bertram and her husband, Joseph Griner of Hopewell Township, New Jersey; grandson, Ryan Chase Griner; sister, Elsie (Rollie) Rosenberger of Alliance; two nieces, Shari (Ted) Johnson of Alliance; Melissa (Len) Loftis of Medina, Ohio; five great nieces and nephews, Ted III, Dane, Madison, Allison, and Brooke; and friend, Christine O'Brien of Seabrook, New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 17 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jim McCurdy officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
