James E. Bichsel

James E. Bichsel, age 73, of Minerva, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
He was born October 18, 1943 to Norman Bichsel and Annabelle (Steves) Bichsel in Sebring, Ohio.
James was a 1962 graduate of Marlington High School and retired from American Steel after 33 years of service.
James was a veteran of the Ohio National Guard, serving from 1965 to 1971 and was a member of the American Legion, Octagon Club, and Foundyman's Association.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. (Serotko) Bichsel; son, Brian W. (Mishael) Bichsel; daughter, Jennifer L. (Bichsel) (Cory) Stevic; grandchildren, Collin Stevic, Amanda Rich, Mary Rich, and Rick Rich; seven great-grand children; siblings, Marie Snyder, Bill (Dena) Bichsel, Ruth Davis, David (Terry) Bichsel, Judy Henderhan, Sue (Chuck) Hoover, Patricia Henderhan, Sally (Mark) Wainauskis, Chuck (Jeanette) Bichsel, Bonnie (John) Leech, Ann (David) Sheen, Ern (Jill) Bichsel, Harold (Sherri) Bichsel, Dale (Theresa) Bichsel; brother-in-laws, David (Elaine) Serotko and Michael (Lisa) Serotko; sister-in-law, Nancy (Richard) Thomas; extended family, Alan Haynam, Jerry (Linda) Haynam, Dean (Carol) Haynam, Mary (Ned) Rimmele, Frank Haynam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Norma Bichsel, Mary Wilson, Howard Bichsel and Donald Bichsel.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery.
