James D. Burchfield

James D. Burchfield, age 67, of North Benton, passed away at 11:55 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his home.
He was born September 8, 1949 in Alliance, Ohio to Wilbur and Geraldine (Martin) Burchfield.
James was employed for 33 years at General Motors in Lordstown.
A 32 degree Mason, Jim loved to fish, hunt, and play his guitar and violin. He had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Marjorie (Cameron) Burchfield, whom he married June 29, 1968; two children, Tracy (Juergen) Scharf of Commerce Township, Michigan and James L. (Connie) Burchfield of Sebring; five grandchildren, Ian, Sophie, Hannah, Greta and Ruby; sister, Betty (Don) Hons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Burchfield.
Services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor James McCurdy officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service.
