James Robert Dunk age 75 of Alliance died at 3:43 p.m. December 11, 2003 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1928 in Montreal Canada to William and Lillian (Thomas) Dunk, and lived in Alliance since the 1950's.
He was employed by Morgan Engineering as a supervisor, and also worked as a self-employed truck-driver. He later worked part time for Montrose Lincoln Mercury.
Mr. Dunk attended Alliance Evangelical Friends Church, was a life member of Western Reserve Motorcycle Club in Salem, a professional and amateur motorcycle racing official and promoter, and a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association.
Mr. Dunk served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.
Survivors include his wife Roberta (Kyner) Dunk, whom he married Nov. 14, 1971, son Dustin Dunk of Odenton, Maryland, daughter Cathy (Randy) Arsenault of Ontario, Canada, son Terry (Nancy) St. Amant of Ontario, Canada, step-daughters Yvette (Randy) Graham of Salem, Ohio, Yolande (Mike) Wisberger of Akron, Ohio, Laura (Patrick) Sandy of Alliance, Ohio, Tawnja (Mike) Hammond of North Benton, Ohio, Pauleisha (Art) Russo, of Cleveland, Ohio, one sister Annie Allison of California, 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Dorothy Pride and Nellie Claridge.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Damascus Cemetery.
