James E. Frederick

James E. Frederick, age 85, of Minerva, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Community Care Center.
He was born September 22, 1932 in Alliance, Ohio to Henry Clay and Dortha (Wiles) Frederick.
A 1950 graduate of Louisville High School, Jim was an over the road truck driver for more than 60 years. He started his career with Sterling Bakery and drove for several companies, before ending his driving with Kuntzman Trucking.
He was a member of Paris Israel Church, and attended Salem United Methodist Church. Jim was an active member of the church consistory at Paris Israel for many years.
He was a life member of both the American Historical Truck Society and Owner Operator of Independent Driver Association.
He was also a member of Teamster Local 92, Alliance T.A.G.S., and Washington Township Historical Society.
A U.S. Army Veteran, Jim served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Jean (Wallace) Frederick, whom he married December 22, 1990; son, Stephan M. Frederick of Louisville; daughter, Jill E. (Dwayne) Snyder of Urbana; step-son, Randy (Frances) Gill of Thomasville, NC; step-daughter, Wendy (Blaine) Lewis of Alliance; four grandsons; one granddaughter; two great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Sims of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-daughter, Marla Jean Linsmaier.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home co-officiated by Pastors Alan Lamb and Neil Orchard. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of the donors' choice.
