James A. Furry, age 51, of Alliance passed away on April 12, 2021 at Aultman Hospital, due to a brief illness.
He was born on October 7, 1969 in Canton to Harold and Lavonne (Hablitzel) Furry.
Jim graduated from Alliance High School in 1988 from the Machine Trades program. He worked as a machinist at Coastal Pet until his retirement in 2015. Jim enjoyed cars, boats, fishing, and camping. He loved the Cleveland Browns and NASCAR for which he collected memorabilia. Most recently, Jim spent his time making wine that was loved by many. He was the proprietor of “Papa’s Daycare” and treasured his kids and spoiling his granddaughters. Jim served as a cherished Girl Scouts leader for his daughters. He was devastated by the loss of his first born daughter, Megan, at the age of 27 in 2016 from cancer.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lisa (Vizzuso) Furry, whom he married on March 3, 1989; his children, Morgan Furry (Fiancé Mark Sampson) and Aaron (Peyton) Furry; grandchildren, Giabella, Giuliana and Gracienna Sampson; sisters, Dianne (Clyde) Stryffeler and Denise (Larry) Haupt; many nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Cory Middleton; and beloved Chihuahuas, Zoie, Phoebe and Suzi.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Megan (Furry) Middleton.
A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Sunday, April 18th from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
