James F. Heslep, age 81, of Alliance, passed away at 5:58 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1932, in Sebring, Ohio, to Cyrus Irwin and Lillian Mae (Smith) Heslep.
James was a member of the Alliance Christian Center. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and employed as a truck driver for more than 40 years.
Survivors include his daughters, April Mae Heslep of Massillon and Sharon Renee Bortoli of Ravenna; his sons, Jeffrey James (Terri Lynn) Heslep of Alliance and Michael Irwin (fiancée, Debra) Heslep of Alliance; 12 grandchildren, Candi, Jacquelyn, Josiah, Luke, Matthew, Nathan, Eric, Adam, Rachael, Saundra, Kassie and Michael; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Claradell Heslep whom he married June 12, 1957 and who died January 14, 2008: infant daughter, Robin K. Heslep; and brothers, Gary, Bob and Chuck.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Kirk Martin officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
