James Jason Hite, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 5, 2024.
James worked for Fleming Foods in Navarre, OH as a Truck Driver for many years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 92 Retirees Club.
James cherished working on antique cars and tractors, particularly Bolen tractors. He also enjoyed attending auctions and car shows. However, most of all he enjoyed visits with old friends and family.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Lou Hite, with whom he shared a loving marriage since September 18, 1999. James took great joy in his family and is survived by his son, Brent Hite, as well as his stepchildren, Donald Lamp, Kristin (Randall) Fetters, Matthew Lamp, and Terry (Jessica) Danner. He also cherished his role as a grandfather to 20 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 18 great-grandchildren, creating a lasting legacy of love and joy. He is also survived by his lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Dean Troyer and a host of nieces and nephews who were precious to him.
James was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Holly Trout; stepdaughter, Kimberly Ritter; siblings, Victor and David Hite, Betty Brown, Lucille Slentz, Verna Miller, and Joanne Troyer.
Visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Wednesday September 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a funeral service to follow. James will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park.
