James W. Huey, age 73, of Alliance, died at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Aultman Hospital.
He was born March 4, 1935 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania to Leonard M. and Sarah Vay (Smith) Huey.
Mr. Huey retired from Diver Steel City in Youngstown, Ohio as a truck driver. He also was a U.S. Army Veteran.
James loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed attending auctions, stock car racing and working in the pit, deer and small game hunting, and woodworking. He volunteered at St. Joan of Arc Food Bank in Canton.
Survivors include his wife, Crecia L. (Young) Huey of Alliance whom he married on April 23, 1960; two daughters, Shirley (Bob) Farnham of Marlboro, Cathy L. Huey of Alliance; one son, James M. Huey of Alliance; four grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, Katie, and Bobby Farnham; four brothers, Jack Smith of PA, Donald (Sherri) Huey of CT, David (Lisa) Huey of PA, Gerald (Betty) Huey of PA; one sister, Reba (David) Higgins of NY; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Pete Huey, two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
