Jim McCann of Alliance passed away on October 5, 2018, at the age of 77.
A 1958 graduate of Marlboro High School and 1963 graduate of the University of Akron, Jim spent 7 years in the USAF as an auditor reaching the rank of Captain. He was then employed at Ohio Edison and FirstEnergy for 35 years in various positions. Jim enjoyed his USAF and FirstEnergy careers and time developing his part-time family farm.
Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years, Theresa "Terri"; children, Elaine (Art) Tuttle, Carol (Paul) Hutchinson, Sharon (Ron) Ryles, Steven (Gini) McCann, Jeffrey McCann and Robert (Elizabeth) McCann and their families. He was preceded by his parents, Ruby (Fowlkes) and James H. McCann.
Jim requested no funeral service and donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
A special thanks to Dr. Kathryn Leininger (Akron General-Green Oncology), Dr. David Olson (Hartville Family Physicians) and their staffs for their care and understanding over the past 5 years.
