James Lane "Jim" Anderson, age 79, of Fort Collins, Colorado, formerly of Alliance, died at his home Friday May 18, 2007.
He was born Nov. 19, 1927 in Alliance to James Leighton and Daisy Aileen (Lane) Anderson.
Jim graduated from Alliance High School and attended Mt. Union College and FL electronics. Jim also graduated from U.S. Maritime service from U.S. Maritime Service Training Station in Norfolk, VA and Sheepshead Bay, NY. He retired from Stark Co. Engineers Office as a Hydraulics Technician.
Mr. Anderson was a U.S. Maritime Service and Army Veteran. He was a member of FMCA, Good Sam, Escapes, Thousand Trails and N.AM. Hunters, lifetime member of DAV 50, past member of Cub and Boy Scouts and was a NRA Instructor.
Jim was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife Shirley L. (Unger) Anderson whom he married April 18, 1954; daughters Malea Anderson and Jana Anderson- McCracken both of Fort Collins, CO; sons James Anderson II and Jonathan Anderson both of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren Angela Dermott of Brookpark, OH, Ian Anderson of Fort Collins, CO, James Anderson III of Hillard, OH, Jonathan Anderson II of Fort Collins, CO and Jana Rose Anderson of Daytona Beach, FL; great grandchildren Hannah and Tyler Dermott of Brookpark, OH and sisters Mrs. Gerald (Mary) Armstrong, Mrs. Dale (Patricia) Walborn and Mrs. John (Jacqueline) Benicasa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Ian Bruce Anderson.
Private Family Services will be held. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
