James L. Liebhart, age 72, of Alliance, died at his home at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 from emphysema.
He was born March 23, 1942 in Salem, Ohio to Joseph William and Myrville Faye (Stelts) Liebhart.
Jim was a member of the 1960 class of Alliance High School, retired in 2006 after 40 years of service at PTC (formerly B&W Tube), and was a U. S. Army Veteran.
He was a member of Alliance Church of Christ, enjoyed bowling and loved coaching Hot Stove for 30 years. Jim was a die-hard Indians fan, a loving and hard-working husband and father. His handshake was his bond and he was the rock of his family.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie (Smith) Brunner Liebhart, whom he married May 28, 1988; three children, Joseph Liebhart, Christopher (Lisa) Liebhart, and Trisha; two step-sons, Scott Brunner, and Steven (Tracy) Brunner; 11 grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, Rachel, Cydney, C.J., Gaige, Britnee, Austin, Jake, Casey and Evan; and four great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Ryan, Noah, and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Ida Marie Liebhart, and grandson, Jamesen Grey Liebhart.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Minister David Ray and Brad Risley of Alliance Church of Christ officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
